Many people have a love-hate relationship with classics and I am no exception. When I was in high school, I was required to read multiple classics that included authors such as Dickens, Shakespeare, Hawthorne, etc. Normally I tried to just buy the cliff notes or watch the movie version and try to get buy with that. But a few novels would catch my interest and I would try to read them. Normally, I fell in love with the book and understood why they were deemed a "classic."

The following "Classics" are books that made it past my skepticism and not only had a good story, but remained with me throughout the years.

1. 1984

2. Fahrenheit 451
