Children Books That Stand the Test of Time

There are certain books that you read as a child that never leave you. They may be classics that the world has discovered, or books that for some reason resonated with you during that time in your life.
When I was little, I remember there was a book on Cinderella that was written for kindergartners and I must have read that book every week I went to the school library. There was something with the way the book was drawn that kept me coming back for it. No matter what I signed out, that book was one of them, unless the librarian said I had to share it with my classmates. Then I would just wait a week and sign it out again.
As I got older, I read other books that had way more substance, but stayed with me just the same. From the sublime to the silly, these books talked to not only me, but generations of children before me. And, I am certain, will speak to generations after.
